Local (Metro Atlanta) Resources

Art Glass Emporium is a retail stained glass supplier in Winder. In addition to their very respectable selection of flat glass, they offer equipment and supplies for warm and hot glass (glass blowing). They also offer classes on all aspects of glass craft. If you are ready to get hands-on they are well worth the trip.

Alta Stained Glass, another retailer, is on the Marietta side of town. They also offer classes, and if you have no space to work at home, you can rent their well-equipped studio by the hour. Their store offers a unique display that backlights a sample of every type of glass for sale.

Jennifer's Glassworks has been in business since the 70's selling retail and wholesale. They also do commission work, primarliy beveled glass entry ways. Owner David Simmons is an accredited member of the Stained Glass Association of America.

Vesperman Glass Studio is both a gallery selling handcrafted glass objects from a number of artists from around the country and a studio producing commission work designed by Seranda Vesperman.

Vloeberghs Stained Glass is headed by designer and artisan Patricia Vloeberghs. She creates impressive and elegant stained glass panels, primarily for residences.

There are many more fine stained glass artisans in the Atlanta area. I will add links as I become personally familiar with them.

National Resources

Stained Glass Association of America is the premier organization promoting professionalism in the field of stained glass. If you are an architect involved in an historic renovation or are responsible for a church or other historic building with stained glass, you need to order and read their Standards and Guidelines for the Preservation of Historic Stained Glass before you have any repair work done.

Cole Sonafrank provides a wealth of information on stained glass and mosaics. He has links for more than 500 studios from his page. The quality of the linked artists is various but always fascinating.

Open Directory Project is the largest human-edited index on the internet. You can't pay to get in. It is based on the quality of your web site. This links directly to the Arts>Crafts>Glass>Stained listing.

Morse Museum of American Art in Winter Park, Florida, has one of the largest and finest collections of Tiffany art glass in the country. Well worth a vacation.

Aurora Glass Studio in Savannah, Georgia, produces high-quality stained glass with particular emphasis on painted and fired glass. This is a content-rich site with a lot of useful information.

McMow Art Glass is located in Palm Beach County, Florida. Included are pictures of the glass they created for the Gianni Versace mansion.

International Resources

The Churchmouse is a photographer and historian with wide-ranging interests including high-quality pictures of English ecclesiastical glass

Galerie du Vitrail is a shop in Chartres, France, which offers antique glass and some unique contemporary pieces done with traditional techniques.

The Stained Glass Museum, Ely Cathedral preserves numerous fine examples of English glass. The web site is informative and provides unique links to other European resources.
